A number of other components of the biological community have been studied infrequently at various outfalls (e.g. sandy beach fauna and plankton).  Some impacts on the icthyoplankton were identified at Sydney’s deepwater ocean outfalls (EPA 1996e). The majority of these ‘other’ studies at the smaller coastal outfalls have, however, failed to find significant outfall effects.
